Ilha do Guajiru
THE VILLAGE
This spot is one of the kitesurf paradise of the Nordeste of Brazil.
A mile-long tongue of sand has created a huge lagoon that dances to the rhythm of the tides.
In these lands, there was nothing before the arrival of kitesurfers, today the pousadas on the shores of the lagoon create the atmosphere day and night.
NATURE
In its surroundings one can enjoy a boat ride along the river to explore the flora and fauna of its mangroves, a surprising and little-visited place to be in full contact with nature.
For a day trip, the best is to go to Icaraizinho, thus discovering all the nature that separates them. Deserted beaches, small fishing villages, dune areas and of course, the incursion into the surprising Aracatiaçu river.
KITESURF
The lagoon is the most common place for kitesurfing, a huge stretch of flat waters to be enjoyed without moderation, except at low tide.
Regardless of the tide, you can enjoy calm waters at the ends of the lagoon, either at the Secret Spot near the river, or to the opposite side where the lagoon meets the ocean.
To play with the waves, you can go out of the lagoon to the open sea, or even better, do the downwind from Almofala to Ilha do Guajiru. A unique experience bordering the coast and visiting areas that are only accessible by sailing, a truly privileged moment.
