Jericoacoara
THE VILLAGE
Jericoacoara, better known as “Jeri”, is a unique fishing village, discovered by windsurfers in the 80s. Since then, Jeri has continued to grow while preserving its unique charm.
In the sandy streets, all languages are mixed, and in the bars and restaurants, the music beats to the rhythm of samba. It is an exceptional and very festive village with an amazing sunset who welcome the night and its inimitable atmosphere.
NATURE
Jeri is surrounded by nature, in the middle of its National Park. Crossing its dunes, an unexpected landscape will surprise anyone who will venture there, the Lagoa do Paraiso. A freshwater lagoon where to spend the day bathing and eating fresh fish with the feet in the water.
Another excursion full of adventures is the one to the Lagoa de Tatajuba. One will have to cross the Guriú river, cross its area of dry mangroves to reach the highest dunes of the region surrounded by lagoons with surprising attractions.
KITESURF
It is a privileged region for kitesurfing, since the winds are strong and constant, with peaks of more than 40 kn during the high season.
However, its main beach is reserved for windsurfing and surfing, and the Praia da Malhada has reefs that make it difficult to access the water. So kitesurfing is to be enjoyed in the neighbouring spots.
The endless beach of Preá, where is held each year the kitesurfing World Cup final, allows you to navigate the open sea with total freedom. While in Guriú the mouth of the river leaves a flat and calm playground.
