THE VILLAGE
Atins is the most remote place on the entire Nordeste of Brazil.
Due to its location, logistical difficulties cause time to pass at a different pace, promoting a simple life within the community.
A village that has developed sustainably, thanks to the work of locals and foreigners, who one day decided to stop travelling and settled here.
KITESURF
Atins is one of the kitesurfing paradises of the Nordeste and the world, offering a large expanse of water protected from the force of the ocean thanks to the sediments of the river, perfect to learn kitesurfing.
It’s a really amazing spot, but there’s more. You will kite in the middle of nature in the calm waters of its delta, while the open ocean will put you to the test.
The icing on the cake will be the kite session in the Lençóis Maranhenses, a truly special moment.
NATURE
The only thing that surrounds Atins are miles and miles of nature, wherever you go.
It is separated from the rest of the civilization on one side by the river and its delta, and on the other by the immense Lençóis Maranhenses. An expanse of dunes so large that it is visible from space, it is filled with water during the rainy season creating countless lagoons, a scenery that you will discover during several adventures.
HOW IS THE JOURNEY
Private transfer from São Luis International Airport to Atins
Upon arrival at the airport, a driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name to guide you on what will be your first adventure.
You will have to do more than four hours by car, with a break included, and one hour by boat. Once in Atins, a quad will take you to your accommodation.
Beginning of kitesurfing in Atins
Today, you will enjoy this mythical spot, where its calm waters will help you to progress easily throughout the day.
In the morning, after seeing the week's program with your instructor, you will start practising in the lagoon of Atins with its privileged conditions.
In the afternoon, you will discover the village accompanied, the ideal moment to know the surroundings and the best addresses.
More kite in Atins and excursion on the river
To get the most out of Atins, there is nothing better than knowing more places to kite while you experience the surrounding nature.
You will sail beyond the lagoon, where strips of sand separate it from the ocean. Arriving with the right tide, an area of shallow water is formed sheltered from the waves, which sooner or later will arrive and put some energy at the end of the lesson.
At the end of the day, you will take a guided tour of the river, an amazing journey that will show you all the flora and fauna of the region, especially the guarás at sunset.
Discovery of the Lençóis Maranhenses
At sunrise, you will need to prepare for the excursion to the Lençóis Maranhenses.
By quad, you will go to the deepest part of the park, climb the dunes and cross countless freshwater lagoons. There you will find an oasis, where you will discover a community that lives far from it all, this welcoming population will share their know-how and their stories with you during a meal at their place.
After visiting the oasis, you will head back to Atins, visiting other points of the park along the way.
Free day and kite in the lénçois
Today you will have the day free to walk around the village or to relax, you have had intense days, and it is not over yet.
In the afternoon, when the wind will be stronger and more constant, it will be the best time to kitesurf in the Lençóis Maranhenses, having until sunset to fully enjoy this unique experience.
Last sensations
The day is yours, and you decide where and when you want to kite, surely you have a favourite spot in Atins, you just have to stop before sunset.
At this point you will set off for one last experience in the lençóis, this time on horseback. During the trip, you will feel the connection with the environment and enjoy the silence, culminating with a dinner under the stars, a great time to say goodbye to this magical place.

The last adventure will be leaving Atins, a one-hour expedition through the dune fields to arrive in Barrinhas.
