This trip will make you enjoy this mythical region for its wind and its different kitesurfing conditions.
You will start with Brazil’s kitesurfing capital, Cumbuco, a small village with an international touch and offering the best conditions to kite. During the trip, you will pass through deserted beaches and discover small fishing villages until Paracuru, a town surrounded by natural resources and treasures. You will end at Ilha do Guajiru, an idyllic place where kiteboarding is omnipresent.
NATURE
During your stays, as well as during your trips and excursions, you will see the big difference between the landscapes of Ceará, also present in other regions of the Nordeste.
You will discover a coast with little relief, where the sand predominates the landscape and is sculpted by the water.
Without a doubt, what makes this whole region special is the magic of fresh water, creating unique environments such as deltas or lençóis, a desert landscape where rainwater lagoons are no mirage.
KITESURF
What is clear is that you will be kiting in amazing places, with a strong and constant wind always present, which will help you improve your technique during these days.
During this trip you will kite in two of the spots hosting the final of international kitesurf events, Cumbuco and Ilha do Guajiru.
You will start in Cumbuco, where the open sea will put you to the test, and its lagoon will make you want to stay longer. Then you will go through Paracuru, to enjoy the best wave spot in the entire Nordeste, to continue with Ilha do Guajiru, a spot known worldwide for its flat conditions and its strong wind.
HOW IS THE JOURNEY
Private transfer from Fortaleza International Airport to Cumbuco
The driver will meet you at the airport with private transport, and in less than an hour you will arrive at your accommodation.
Once installed, you can join the pousada group to stroll around the village. The perfect time to chat with other kitesurfers and enjoy the atmosphere of this legendary spot.
Kite in Cumbuco
Finally, the time has come to get ready to kite, the beach of Cumbuco is an emblematic place for kitesurfing in Brazil.
Its strong and constant winds made it the spot for the kitesurfing world cup final, putting many champions to the test. And by being there, you can take the breaks you want to make the most of all the conditions.
Downwind to the lagoon of Cauipe
After breakfast, you will spend the day at the Lagoa do Cauipe, a flat water area separated from the ocean by only a few meters, at the end of Cumbuco’s beach.
There are a lot of barracas with typical food and appreciable shade, so you will only have to worry about kiting and enjoying the day, this is one of the favourite spots for locals and international pro riders that come here to train.
Last day of kiting in Cumbuco and excursion to Paracuru
The best way to say goodbye to this spot is to pay homage to it and kite one last time before getting ready for the next adventure.
You will make the trip that separates you from Paracuru in a 4x4, travelling through deserted beaches to discover the Lençois Cearenses, a surprising landscape due to the lagoons that form between the dunes, thanks to the heavy rains of the rainy season. The perfect place to watch the sunset along the way to your next destination.
Discovery of the waves in Paracuru
Having discovered the nature of the region, now is the time to feel and enjoy the conditions of its coast.
You are going to kite in the Quebra Mar, a spot where two lines of reefs have created the ideal playground for wave lovers, also revealing a large area of flat water between the two. Apart from the difficulty of the reef area, calmer waves also form along the beach, allowing everyone to enjoy them.
Kite and excursion in the Curu river delta
Today you are going to visit the river zone, and you will see how it leaves landscapes very different from those you have seen so far.
The sediments of the river create large expanses of shallow, completely flat water, which together with the scenery that will surround you will make for an incredible day of kiting.
After a break, you will leave by boat to discover the deepest part of the river, fishing among the mangroves to share a dinner on the beach at the end of the day.
Arrival and kite in Ilha do Guajiru
After breakfast the driver will be waiting to take you to your next destination, in three hours you will be in the water in a kitesurfing paradise.
Your accommodation is right in front of the kite spot, a lagoon that fills up to the rhythm of the tides and is protected from the open ocean by a huge strip of sand, the ideal place to start discovering everything this spot has to offer.
The surroundings of Ilha do Guajiru
In the morning, you will go to the Secret Spot, a place outside the lagoon with flat waters and perfect wind.
After the kite session, you will enjoy the boat ride to return to your accommodation discovering the river and its mangroves.
Then it's up to you, you can continue kiting or relax and get ready for a night out in one of the bars or restaurants in the village.

During these days you have been able to experience just about everything this spot has to offer, you are just missing one place with incredible conditions, just outside the lagoon towards the ocean, where the final of the world cup of kitesurf has place.
You will kite where international kitesurf competitions take place. In this part of the beach the winds are stronger and more constant, moreover you can kite at high tide as at low tide.
Back at your pousada, a farewell party at the rhythm of the samba will carry you until the end of this journey filled with memories.
