Delta do Parnaiba
THE VILLAGE
With almost a hundred kilometres of coastline, the so-called Delta of the Americas is the third-largest open sea delta in the world.
A maze of channels that make their way to the ocean creating an archipelago of more than 80 islands, some inhabited, where spending a few days and enjoy the full contact with nature will remain unforgettable memories.
NATURE
The Delta of Parnaíba is an ecological sanctuary with a diversity of landscapes that go beyond the mangroves.
Dune areas, freshwater lagoons, great beaches of white sand, all far from human hands. Crocodiles and monkeys are part of the show, creating very different environments at night and during the day.
The highlight of the visit is the sunset in the famous Revoada dos Guarás, when hundreds of pinkish birds gather on the mangrove islands to spend the night.
KITESURF
Inside the delta there are heavenly places to kitesurf, and travelling by boat to enjoy them is a unique experience. Desert islands, mangrove channels and tiny shallow beaches are part of the different landscapes it offers.
The best spot is undoubtedly at the mouth of the river. Sediments have created large deserted beaches, many protected from the ocean by large sandbars. A place with flat conditions on one side and waves up to a meter on the other.
